The latest issue of SCAG's Spotlight E-Newsletter is now available.

On Feb. 2, the governing body of the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) approved funding recommendations for 54 active transportation and sustainability projects totaling $9.6 million throughout the six‐county region. The money would be used to finance – or help finance – projects ranging from pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements to climate action plans to integrated land‐use initiatives at the community and county level. SCAG, the nation’s largest metropolitan planning organization, has been a leader in promoting active transportation and smart land use in an effort to improve the mobility, sustainability and economic vitality of the region.

139 projects totaling $35.5 million submitted proposals. Funding awards were divided into three categories: active transportation, integrated land use and green regions initiative grants.
