SCAG’s planning work serves a large and diverse region, and we rely on public participation as an essential component of our planning process. Strategies and best practices for public engagement, as well as the ways people consume information, have shifted dramatically in the past few years. The update to the Public Participation Plan allows SCAG to better reflect those changes as well as ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
On Nov. 16, 2021, SCAG released the Draft 2022 Public Participation Plan for a 45-day public review and comment period from Nov. 16, 2021 through Dec. 31, 2021.
At the end of the comment period, staff will review, address and incorporate as appropriate all comments received. We anticipate adopting a final plan in Spring 2022.
