USGBC-LA & SCAG Wildfire Defense Forum & Virtual Tour

Join us for a panel session and virtual tour presented by the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) and U.S. Green Business Council – Los Angeles (USGBC-LA) on wildfire defense! Wildfire protection responsibilities are becoming more and more challenging for Southern California communities as the region’s climate becomes hotter, drier and less predictable.

The latest fire science indicates that “thinking home first” is the most effective and efficient way to save lives and properties and can improve the region’s overall resilience to climate change. The Wildfire Defense Forum & Virtual Tour draws together leaders in fire defensive home design, construction, assessment, retrofits, and related policies. Attendees will learn why thinking “home first” is essential to wildfire protection, how to “harden” a home to fire, and how best practices in fire defensive building relate to our overall resilience.
