SCAG’s Active Transportation and Safety Call for Projects Opens July 8; $10.4 Million Available
SCAG is releasing the Sustainable Communities Program – Active Transportation and Safety call for projects on July 8. The call for projects will provide $10.4 million in funding from state Active Transportation Program Cycle 7 regional funds and a federal Safe Streets and Roads for All grant. Eligible projects include community plans, area plans and quick-build projects that encourage active transportation (e.g., walking, biking, transit) and improve roadway safety. Funded projects should also support implementation of the Connect SoCal 2024 Regional Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy. More details about program goals, eligibility and project types can be found in the Program Guidelines.
SCAG will be holding workshops Thursday, July 25, and Wednesday, Aug. 7, and also offering office hours during the application period. Online applications are due by Sept. 27. SCAG staff will provide application rankings for approval by the SCAG Regional Council in April 2025, with final award announcements anticipated in June 2025.
