Toolbox Tuesday Housing Series Part 2
Tools & Resources To Increase Housing Access and Exploring Development Trends
Housing Series Part Two
Tuesday, November 14, 1 – 2:30 p.m.
Register here to join Part Two of the Toolbox Tuesday Housing Series. Part Two will focus on tools jurisdictions can use to identify suitable sites in their communities for housing development and provide information on updated California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) legislation.
SCAG’s Regional Data Platform (RDP) Housing Element Parcel (HELPR) tool allows jurisdictions to input several variables best suited for housing development; most data powering HELPR is collected from local jurisdictions through the Local Data Exchange (LDX) process. With these specific parcels identified, the jurisdictions can use the California Office of Planning and Research’s Site Check tool to determine how the housing development may qualify for streamlining under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). In addition to the tools mentioned above, SCAG has been collaborating with a consultant team to prepare guidance materials for available development streamlining options. These materials, combined with information about recent CEQA legislation, will assist jurisdictions in identifying opportunities to accelerate housing production.
Please reach out to the Local Information Services Team (LIST) at list@scag.ca.gov for further assistance.
