SCAG Hosts ‘SoCal Transportation Safety Predictive Modeling and Analysis Platform’ Toolbox Tuesday
On July 28, SCAG hosted a Toolbox Tuesday session to demonstrate the SoCal Transportation Safety Predictive Modeling and Analysis Platform, a new tool in development by SCAG to support local jurisdictions investing in traffic safety.
The session demonstrated how the platform can be used for data-informed safety planning and capital investments and support local agencies and jurisdictions during grant application processes—such as the Active Transportation Program and the Safe Streets and Roads for All program—by providing data and visualizations to identify priorities, document needs, and visualize project benefits.
The session was led by Michael Gainor, SCAG senior planner, and Dan Moore, account manager at Citian Inc. Citian is the consultant partnering with SCAG to develop the forthcoming platform.
The entire session is available to watch on YouTube.
