Vice Mayor Cindy Allen was elected to represent Long Beach’s Second Council District in 2020, and in late 2022 she was selected unanimously by her colleagues as Vice Mayor. She serves as chair of the Economic Development and Opportunity Committee, vice chair of the Intergovernmental Affairs Committee, and on the Arts, Culture and Tourism Committee. In addition to serving as a board officer for SCAG, Cindy represents the City of Long Beach as a board member of the National League of Cities. Prior to serving in public office, she was an entrepreneur and small-business owner, and served her community as a Long Beach police officer for 10 years, during which she was awarded more than 20 commendations for bravery and exceptional service to Long Beach.
